Mission Statement
Safe Kids International has a singular mission: to end the epidemic of Court Licensed Abuse.
Court Licensed Abuse occurs when family court judges grant custody to, or "license", an abusive parent, while punishing the protective parent with loss of custody, visitation, sanctions, threats, jail, etc. Although both fathers and mothers can experience this, it occurs relatively rarely with fathers and for different reasons.
Safe Kids is focusing on ending the epidemic of Court Licensed Abuse in which mothers are severely retaliated against and deliberately silenced after reporting physical, sexual or psychological abuse. The fundamental cause of this epidemic is systemic discrimination against women and children resulting from the age-old agenda to maintain male power and entitlement within the family.
Safe Kids International is focused on fighting this oppression of women and children as a civil rights battle. Women have never at any time in history had the Power to Protect and our goal at Safe Kids is to acquire that power for the first time. We are raising public awareness through print, mainstream and social media.
We are working with legislators as well. Safe Kids is actively engaged in getting Damon's Law passed, which will mandate that all child sexual assault cases be thoroughly investigated by special victims units and heard before a jury with the option of the preponderance of evidence burden of proof. That will solve the most common problem which is that there is rarely enough evidence of abuse to reach the "beyond a reasonable doubt" burden. In cases where the perpetrator is found guilty by preponderance, he will not be incarcerated, but the child will be protected until the age of majority.
